IRS Tax Calendars

The IRS provides an on-line tax calendar for self-employed workers and small business owners.  The calendar can be filtered for monthly or semi-weekly payroll depositors and will show general and excise tax due dates.  You can access the IRS on-line tax calendar here. IRS calendar reminders can be installed by clicking here.  Reminders can be set up for 1 week or 2 weeks before each tax due date. 2017 Standard Mileage Rates

Beginning on Jan. 1, 2017, the standard mileage rates used for deductions for the use of a vehicle (car, van, pickup, or panel truck) will be: 53.5 cents per mile for business miles driven, down from 54 cents for 2016 17 cents per mile driven for medical or moving purposes, down from 19 cents for 2016 14 cents per mile driven in service of charitable organizations The business standard mileage rate cannot be used for more than four vehicles at the same time. 2017 Tax Season

The IRS will begin accepting electronic tax returns on January 23, 2017.  The deadline to file tax returns or extensions is April 17th, 2017.  If you are expecting a refund, it will take longer this year due to increased security measures implemented by the IRS.
